THE ROLE OF THE EMBASSY AND THE AMBASSADOR

The main objective of the Embassy is to strengthen the political, economic, cultural, scientific and information relations between Republic of Macedonia and Commonwealth of Australia and stimulate the involvement of the Australian citizens of Macedonian origin in the development of the relations. The Embassy protects the interest of the Republic of Macedonia and interests of the citizens and legal entities of the Republic of Macedonia in the Commonwealth of Australia.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia is the personal envoy of the President of the Republic of Macedonia to the Commonwealth of Australia. In this capacity he represents the Head of State, The Government and all the Ministries. The Ambassador has permanent communications with the official organs in the Republic of Macedonia and informs the Government of current developments in Australia, negotiates on behalf of the Republic of Macedonia, watches over the development of bilateral relations in all fields and ensures the protection of interests of the Republic of Macedonia and her citizens in the Commonwealth of Australia.

The Ambassador is authorise to present in Commonwealth of Australia a real picture of the developments in the Republic of Macedonia, her strategic goals and achievements in the road for inclusion in the European integration processes.

The Ambassador leads and is the main responsible for of the Embassy’s work.

  • Born in Skopje on 8 December 1948, son of Prof. Dr. Stevan and Prof. Vera Gaber
  • 1972 - Graduated from the Faculty of Law at the St Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje
  • 1986 - MA degree in field of State and Legal History of Macedonia
  • Published dozens of scientific and expert works
  • Published three books: The Macedonian Diplomacy (2002) and
    The troubles of a Macedonian Intellectual (2003) and Collateral Damage (2006)
  • Married to Biljana Sekulovska-Gaber, PhD, Professor at the Faculty of Economics, St Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje
  • Three daughters
  • Foreign languages spoken: English, French, Greek, Italian and Albanian
